MVP for week of 4/24: Blissed off

I had to wait until after Payback to decide the MVP because no one really jumped off the page for me after Raw and Smackdown.

But following Payback in San Joe, California, the choice seemed a lot easier.

Alexa Bliss put together an excellent promo on Raw — walking away from a match with Sasha Banks because she didn’t want to waste her time.

Then, on Sunday, Bliss made history. She became the first ever woman to win both the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Championships by defeating Bayley in her hometown.

Let’s not forget Bayley had just successfully defended her championship against Charlotte. For Bliss to pin Bayley clean in the middle of the ring, it’s a huge step in the right direction for her career.

It’s only been a few weeks since the superstar shakeup, and Bliss has quickly¬†become one of the top stars on the red brand. There is an argument to be made that Bliss is one of the WWE MVP’s overall since the brand split

I imagine Bayley will get her rematch soon, but after that, it’s exciting to see Bliss possibly take on Sasha Banks or Mickie James who she already has history with.
